Come and join us to celebrate the bard—Robert Burns! For the first time ever, we’re opening up The Free Company on 25th January for a special Burns Night celebration.

Gather your friends and family for an evening of feasting, drinking, ceilidhing, and theatrical recitals. Here’s what’s in store:

From 6:30pm

• Canapé reception in the courtyard around the fire

From 7:30pm

• Piping in for dinner

• Address to the haggis

• The Free Company Burns Feast

From 9:00pm

• Your choice of an after-dinner cocktail or mocktail

• A lively ceilidh orchestrated by the incredible Ciaran Ryan, running from 9:00–11:00pm

Guests are welcome to stay until midnight, with the bar open for final toasts to the bard.

Our bar will be open from 6pm throughout the evening.

Getting Here

We are located just outside Balerno, with easy access from the City of Edinburgh.

• Public Transport - From the centre of Edinburgh, the number 44 Lothian Bus to Balerno is your best option. The nearest bus stop is Crosswood Crescent and we will then operate our shuttle service to collect you from there - please pop us an email. 

• By Car - We have plenty of parking available so feel free to drive. 

• Taxis - while you may be able to get an Uber here, they do not operate pickups this far out. We have a great relationship with Edinburgh City Cabs and recommend using their services instead.
